What's the Best Pool to Build?

When you begin researching the different types of pools, many ask if which swimming pool is best, or if one type of pool is better than another. There is no right answer! Typically aesthetic preference, size, maintenance, and budget are the biggest considerations.

Types of Swimming Pools

Swimming pools can be above ground, semi inground, and inground. Both inground and semi inground pools require excavation. Large above-ground pools are generally vinyl liners with supportive walls made of resin, aluminum, or steel.  Semi-inground pools are above-ground pools installed partially in the ground. There are three types of inground pools: concrete, vinyl, and fiberglass. Concrete pools are the most common type of pool and the only type of pool that can be completely customized. Generally speaking, vinyl pools are the least expensive inground pool to build but require liner replacements. Concrete pools are typically the most expensive type of inground pool.
